All-on-4 dental implants — cost in Norway vs Latvia

All-on-4 is the standard solution for a full arch of fixed teeth — typical for patients over 55 who have lost many or all teeth in one or both jaws. In Norway, the price reflects high clinic costs and fully out-of-pocket treatment (HELFO covers nothing for typical cases). In Latvia you get the same procedure — same implants, same zirconia bridges, same EU standard — for around 60% of the Norwegian price in most cases, and up to 70% off for the premium clinics.

Norway 🇳🇴

Typical All-on-4 (both arches)

€24,400

High clinic costs, long waiting lists, and HELFO covering none of the treatment for adults. In 2024, 329,000 Norwegians couldn't afford necessary dental care.

003 — Patient stories

What our patients
are saying

"I lost four teeth over a few years and needed a full implant bridge. My dentist in Oslo wanted €12,000. HELFO covered nothing — I'm 71 and a pensioner. DentBridge found the clinic, and the whole job cost €3,900 in Riga including flights and four nights at a hotel. The staff were patient with an old chap like me."

Knut Eriksen, 71

Oslo · Implant bridge (4 teeth)

Kari: "I read through everything — forums, YouTube, compared clinics in Hungary and Turkey. DentBridge came across as the most serious, so I asked for a video call before we decided."

Erik: "The dentist in Oslo wanted €27,600 for the whole mouth. We paid €16,800 in Riga, including two short trips, hotel and flights. The treatment was at least as thorough as at home — probably more thorough."

KE

Kari (64) & Erik (68)

Stavanger · Full-mouth restoration (both arches)

"I needed a full implant bridge — four teeth that had to be replaced. The dentist in Trondheim wanted €9,500. DentBridge found a good clinic and the whole job cost €5,800 in Riga including flights and three nights at the Grand Poet. Treatment took 6 days in total. As a pensioner, the €3,700 I saved really matters."

004 — While you're there

Treatment first.
Riga as a bonus.

You're not flying to Riga for a holiday — you're flying for new teeth. But between appointments you have time to walk through the UNESCO-protected old town, sit at a café in the Art Nouveau quarter, or simply rest at the hotel. For many couples it becomes an unplanned little getaway alongside a medical trip.

Riga old town

Riga 🇱🇻

The Baltic dental hub. Daily direct flights from Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim with Air Baltic and Norwegian. A flight of under two hours that can save you thousands. Between appointments you can wander the UNESCO-protected old town.

005 — Insight

Why Norwegian patients choose Riga for All-on-4 and implant work

All-on-4 in Norway costs €9,400–€15,000 per arch (up to €20,700 for premium clinics) — and HELFO usually covers nothing, since adults don't have the same coverage they get at their GP. In 2024, 329,000 Norwegians couldn't afford necessary dental care (Dagbladet, 2026).

Latvia offers the same treatment — same implant brands (Straumann, Neodent), same EU standard, same certified dentists — for up to 70% less.

006 — Comparison

Why Riga
and not Hungary or Turkey?

Most Norwegians considering dental treatment abroad end up looking at Hungary (Budapest) or Turkey (Istanbul, Antalya). Both offer lower prices than Norway. But Riga beats them both on flight time, follow-up access and EU safety.

Riga is closer and more understandable in cultural and behaviour patterns to Norway than Budapest.

007 — Frequently asked

The questions we get
every week.

How many days in Riga do I need?

+

It depends on the treatment. Typical patterns:

  • First consultation 1 visit — 1 day (or video call from Norway)
  • Implant bridge (3+ teeth) 2–4 days
  • All-on-4 (single arch) 5 days
  • Full mouth (both arches) 5 days

We would recommend finishing all treatments during 1 trip of several days.

What happens if something goes wrong after I'm home?

+

Every DentBridge clinic provides a 5-year warranty on crowns, bridges and veneers and a 10-year warranty on implants. The warranty is written and documented before you pay anything.

Riga is genuinely close — the flight from Oslo is about 1 h 30 min, roughly the same as driving from Oslo to Hamar (around 90 minutes). If a follow-up trip is ever needed, it really is just a short hop back.

There have never been any problems with our doctors.

Is Riga safer than Hungary or Turkey?

+

For Norwegian patients — yes, on several important points:

  • EU oversight: Latvian dental clinics are regularly inspected by the Ministry of Health. Every dentist holds EU certification.
  • Patient rights: Complaints can be raised via Latvian regulators or EU consumer channels. In Turkey, disputes must be settled in a Turkish court — in practice impossible for a Norwegian patient.
  • Clinic culture: Riga clinics tend to be small specialist teams. Turkish "smile factory" clinics push package deals where every front tooth is filed down to a stub — even when only veneers would do.
  • Flight time: 1 h 30 min direct to Riga vs 4–4.5 h to Turkey — relevant right after surgery.

VG and NRK have covered multiple cases where Norwegian patients pay dearly to fix botched Turkey treatment. We don't recommend Turkey.

Which clinic is right for me?

+

That's our job to answer. Riga has roughly 60 dental clinics. We partner with a handful — selected for:

  • Specialty in full-mouth rehabilitation, All-on-4/6 and oral surgery
  • English-speaking staff
  • Quality of materials and lab work (Straumann, Neodent)
  • Documented satisfaction among past patients

Send us a short description of your dental situation (ideally with a panoramic X-ray or phone photo of your mouth). We match you with 1–2 clinics that fit.

Do I get the same implant brand as at home?

+

Yes. Our partner clinics use the same brands as most Norwegian private dentists:

  • Straumann (Switzerland) — the premium implant in Norway
  • Neodent (Brazil, Straumann Group) — a strong value-tier choice from the same parent group

Manufacturer warranties apply globally. A Straumann implant is a Straumann implant — whether placed in Oslo or Riga.

What about language — do you speak Norwegian?

+

Our partner clinics work in perfect English. The doctors do not speak Norwegian — all consultations, treatment plans and follow-up communication with the clinic are in English, the standard language for international dental care across Europe.

Your DentBridge contact Ieva also corresponds in English with patients from Norway.

How much do flights and hotel cost on top?

+

The whole trip should take about 5 days in Riga. Everything can be done during one trip — consultation and treatments — though of course it may depend on your dental and medical situation.
